Eliminating Your Bad Traits Can Be Better than Adding New Traits

Eliminate Bad Habits and Add Good TraitsA lot of stuff about pick-up out there assumes that people are lacking something… that people need to upgrade and get add-ons. Here is a new perspective that looks at the opposite end of the spectrum.

Elimination

“One does not accumulate but eliminate.

It is not daily increase but daily decrease.

The height of cultivation always runs to simplicity.”

-         Bruce Lee

That statement packs a lot of meaning. In today’s society there is so much emphasis on living life with “more, more, more!” consumerism goes rampant, materialism becomes ingrained with the social mentality, and people are still not happy. And I don’t think the current economic climate is helping either.

I believe in this day and age it is relevant for us to take a good long look at our lives and see what works, as well as what doesn’t. The simplest way to begin on the path to recovery is simply to eliminate what doesn’t work.

I’ve come to the sobering realization that for most people life isn’t about living. Instead, life has become a series of distractions. People are so desperate to look for meaning in their lives that they would cling onto the next shiny new thing every time… as a distraction. Example: How many times have you check your email or Facebook account today?
